About the role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Technology Lawyer to join our legal counsel team, which has seen significant growth in the last few years. The thriving team manages high profile matters across NFU Mutual and takes a proactive approach to its work.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a varied role offering high quality and complex work supporting the business in all aspects of IT projects and technology law. You will also provide support on general commercial legal matters. We are particularly keen to appoint someone who can provide support and guidance to the other legal counsel when they are working on technology contracts.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, forward thinking Technology Lawyer seeking a new challenge or the opportunity to move in-house.

What we’re looking for

The successful applicant will be a Solicitor with an excellent academic record and significant technology law experience gained either within a leading international/national firm or an in-house function. You will be technically excellent, as well as highly commercial in outlook. We need a lawyer with a proven background in e-commerce, software licencing, IT security, telecoms, outsourcing, and supply agreements who has experience of negotiating with multi-national tech companies. Experience of advising large, complex, and long-term projects would be a distinct advantage.

You will have a track record of managing competing demands and stakeholder expectations and a proven ability to establish a high degree of trust and respect. You will deliver timely legal advice to the business and project teams, be resilient, confident, and able to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Experience of working a regulated business is desirable but not essential.
